Artist Spotlight: Beam&Deem

15 Sep

I actually just discovered Beam&Deem a few days ago and with the drop of two new studio mixes I fell in love. This duo has everything you could want in an electronic band and they mix elements of many electronic genres into their music. They say it best, “In an era where the evolution of music involves merging mind with technology, Beam&Deem offers a breath of life into the machine, generating a unique sound that will shake both your mind and your behind.” Normally, I would put the tracks here for you all to download however Beam&Deem have posted them free on their site here. They are also asking for donations 100% of which will go to the charity Talk About Curing Autism. Definitely check these mixes and go donate to a great cause.

A Visit to the Electric Zoo

13 Sep

I was stumbling through the music blogosphere today and while I visited our friends at 201BEATS, I found that they posted a sick review of some of the bands that played at Electric Zoo. I know E Zoo was two weeks ago, but I just couldn’t help posting some of the songs. Unfortunately, we were unable to attend however 201BEATS wrote a great post full of videos and pictures that you should all check out here. It looked like an amazing festival and I am definitely considering going next year.

Artist Spotlight: Ronald Jenkees

4 Aug

By far one of the greatest synth players I know of, Ronald Jenkees got his start on youtube recording himself playing songs in his room. Despite his apparent quirkiness in his videos, most of them have over 2,000,000 views. Jenkees is a truly talented musician and in his own words, he makes music because “its fun!” He also creates sick beats and raps a little bit too.  He has released two albums, a self titled album and Disorganized Fun, both of which are great! Check out his videos below and on his youtube page here. If you like please support him by purchasing his albums on his website http://www.ronaldjenkees.com or on itunes.
