Javis Faux is a 22 year old music producer based out of Augusta / Atlanta, GA. Let me say that this kid has a lot of talent. He has produced tracks for Niko Villamor, Yelawolf, HollyWeerd and a few other artists. His recently released instrumental album, Javis Eat World, is full of sick beats just waiting for someone to spit over. Download Javis Faux’s album here. Also check out his website and follow him on twitter.
Nic Hunt AKA Equaleyes is an eighteen years old out of suburbia in Fairfax, Virginia. His music sticks true to hip hop. This kid has a lot of potential and is out to represent the lifestyle of a normal teenager with normal problems. He produces all of his own music and has put out a solo tape and two collab tapes. You can download his solo tape here. Equaleyes will be opening for Mac Miller at Jaxx Nightclub in Springfield, VA next Sunday October 10th so if you live in the area you should definitely go out and support. First off I want to say that I love this band’s name mainly because my children will never know of the lost planet of Pluto. My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nine … will forever be an incomplete pneumonic. So Long, Pluto is a 5-piece band out of Scranton, PA that formed in early 2008. I actually met these guys in a bar last week while I was in Scranton for a medical school interview. I overheard them discussing what time signature the song that was playing at the bar was in and I just had to chime in. We had a pretty good conversation about musicianship and various bands and I offered to do an artist spotlight on their band. The band is made up of a keyboardist, two guitars and a drummer along with a violinist which adds a unique spin to the stereotypical template of two guitarist, a bassist and a drummer to which so many bands ascribe. This song is called “Everything You’re Not” and was just released today. Definitely check out their myspace and facebook and pick up their album Come Revisit El Paso!here.
Exciting news! We have received our first music submission! Josh Hurt is a 20 yr. old Urban Pop entertainer from Dallas, TX. He has been writing original music since the age of 9, and started recording and performing at the age of 17. By the fall of 2010, Josh Hurt would have already independently-released two singles and music videos. He is currently working on his first project, The Exhibition. Being inspired by top acts such as Michael Jackson and Beyonce, Josh Hurt is gearing up to give the Pop scene what it has been missing. Be sure to check out his myspace, youtube, and twitter. Keep the new music coming!
The Lords of Liechtenstein are an acoustic rock duo straight out of Homdel, NJ. These two brothers’ catchy melodies and great vocals are reminiscent of the music of Matt Costa and Marcy Playground and remind me of happy times relaxing in the sun. What really stikes me about the band is their versatility. The duo creates a very full sound in their music and utilizes a variety of instruments including ukulele, mandoline and piano. Although they do not have a drummer during live performances, Noah covers the drums and percussion as well as the ukulele and keyboard on their demo tracks. Be sure to check them out on their facebook here. Also if you like their music and live near New Brunswick, NJ they will be playing a show at The Court Tavern on October 8. Check out their facebook event here for more info. Happy Listening!
Not only did I hit the road to bring you guys a live concert experience, I am also proud to announce that this will be our first Local Music Artist Spotlight! The Knowmads are a four piece band hailing from Marlboro, NJ. Although the band has only been together for a little over a month, the chemistry between the band members is incredible. They are all very talented musicians who really have a feel for music. Their jams are awesome and make you want to dance and their ability to seamlessly change genres on a dime serves as a tribute to their talent. This is the second show they have ever played together and it was a great time (I wasn’t at their first show because I was seeing Sound Tribe Sector 9). The members have gone off to college for now but come Thanksgiving Break I will hopefully have some new music from The Knowmads for everyone to enjoy. I’ve posted some live videos along with a sound board recording so that everyone can put them on their ipods and and enjoy their music on the go 🙂
P.S. If any other bands want us to post their music, feel free to email your stuff with a small description of the band to email@example.com
