Artist Spotlight: Roots Of Creation

21 Sep

Roots Of Creation’s music is the perfect mix of jam and reggae sprinkled with a hint of electronica. Although their sound is very similar to Sublime they have moved themselves into a league of their own with their upbeat, substantial songs, 10 minute lead guitar solos and great dance jams. Hopefully I will be seeing them with DJ Morale and Beam&Deem this Saturday at Sullivan Hall in NYC. Should be a great time.

Artist Spotlight: Thousands Of One

2 Sep

Something great aways results when you have a band whose music acts as a voice for social change. “This is the essence of Thousands Of One – to build connections between people and live inspired lives, striving to bring that inspiration into the world around us.” Thousands Of One’s music covers a large spectrum of music from hip-hop to rock and reggae, jazz,¬†Motown, West African drumming, funk and soul. Their music has moved crowds around the country as much as their activism has and their album SoulForce is definitely worth downloading on iTunes. If you’re interested in getting involved in with some of their social movements you can check them out on their website here.
